Employee Volunteering
Many organisations are now committed to promoting volunteering amongst their employees. We
enable organisations to increase the value from these projects.
We do this
by establishing ways that the learning from these valuable community based experiences
can be translated back into the
organisation. We have designed the strategy for employee volunteering for a major
university, run awareness raising with volunteers about the transferable skills
they have developed and have enabled employees to develop their management
skills back in the workplace.
We have recently developed a workbook and team
leaders toolkit for a project involving volunteering in six continents of the
world.
An
article based on our work has
been published in an international
journal "Using employee volunteering programs to develop leadership
skills" Development and Learning in Organisations vol 21, no1 2007

"the planning session really helped
me to think about how to get the project off the ground and the follow up review
identified the learning points afforded by the project"
Mairi Louise Gobbi, Eversheds LLP
"On behalf of the organisers of the Cares Convention can
I say how grateful we are to you for leading the seminar, 'Winning with
community-based team-building'. I know just how much work your team, put
into the day and I hope they have been rewarded by the sense of satisfaction
they should feel after such a successful session".

Individual
Learning Programmes
One of our long term
projects has been with a medium sized call centre in the legal sector. Each of
the 16 managers in the centre have been working with us on an individual basis
to identify what they need to do to improve their own performance and the
performance of their team. Part of the success of the project has been providing
participants with support to find resources to increase their awareness through
books, magazine articles or internet sites.
